4 3 3 Triethylaluminium (TEAL) : Spontaneously flammable in air. Reacts violently with water Main Hazard: Pyrophoric Triethylaluminium (TEAL), [(CH3CH2)3Al], is a colorless, pyrophoric liquid which reacts violently with water. It is spontaneously flammable in air and unreacted TEAL may re-ignite when in contact with air or water. Skin contact can cause severe burn and inhalation may cause irritation. Oxidation of TEAL can generate aluminium oxide dust which may cause toxic effects to the liver and kidneys in test animals.

TEAL Demonstration

TEAL liquid been released to the tray – Ignited by itself upon released.

See white smoke – (Oxidation of TEAL can generate aluminium oxide dust which may cause toxic effects to the liver and kidneys in test animals

Co2 - Fire Extinguisher been used- Not effective

Dry Chemical Fire Extinguisher been used

Dry Chemical - Fire Extinguisher been used

Dry Chemical Fire Extinguisher been used- Effective momentarily

Starts igniting Aegean

Smothering with Fire Blanket

Smothering with Fire Blanket- Effective Mouthed

Removing the Fire Blanket –See re-ignition will take place..

See re-ignition taking place

See re-ignition toke place

Use of Dry Material Soda-ash

Use of Dry Material Soda-ash – Effective Mouthed

Trying to use little water from a distant.. Dont Use Of Water

See White smoke- Very Toxic

Use of little water from a distant.. See Fire is getting bigger and smoke is getting more Dont Use Of Water

See what happen with water Never…. Never….. Never Use Of Water

Never Use Water – Use Aluminized PPE with SCBA..use Dry Chemical Fire extinguisher until Leak is isolated or purged with Oil back to the Iso- Container
