Session Objective 1: Describe products and tools used in technical assistance (TA) activities provided by the National Center on Deaf-Blindness in key initiative areas: Early Identification, Referral, and Intervention Family Engagement Qualified Personnel Literacy Transition National Child Count

Session Objective 2: Demonstrate: Tools support the delivery of technical assistance (TA) related to deaf-blindness Tools achieve outcomes that are the goals of all TA projects

Presenter Assumptions about TA: Technical Assistance, done well, is valuable Needs are met Reported to OSEP as “quality, relevant, and useful” TA tools support both child specific and systems work Building capacity Adoption of effective practices Sustainable solutions

TA Tool Examples Each example tool is used in NCDB’s technical assistance (universal, targeted, and intense activities) Questions to answer: How might this tool be used to encourage and support the implementation of effective practices (child-specific TA)? How might this tool be used to support technical assistance goals related to identifying and addressing systemic needs (systems TA)?
