What is a mentor? A critical friend, colleague, line manager, subject specialist, an experienced practitioner, who is prepared to give support and guidance to new employees. They can be in any organisation, for example education, industry, businesses, public sector organisations.

Past Experiences Own experiences Skills acquired and developed in previous employments. Skills transferable to current job roles and responsibilities.

Past Mentors Influences from past mentors and job roles. What good practices were learnt and developed?
