3. You should use correct grammar, spelling and punctuation. The Giver RAFT You will take on either the role of Jonas or Lily. Depending on which role you choose, you will write a letter to either Jonas’ immediate family and the Community of Elders discussing why you decided to leave and take Gabe OR you will write a letter (as Lily) to Jonas describing what has happened in the community since he left. You should use the format of a letter with a greeting, at least three paragraphs and a closing. You should write a rough draft in pencil and your FINAL COPY IN BLUE OR BLACK INK. 3. You should use correct grammar, spelling and punctuation. 4. Make sure you use evidence from The Giver novel in your letter. You may use your book. Use the back of this sheet to brainstorm your ideas. 5. Your completed letter is due at the end of the class period.
