Hatchet Survival Kit By: Mike Fowler

Survival item 1 My first survival item would be matches because I would want to be able to start a fire and matches also scare away animals. On page 90 Brian could have used matches to start the fire easier.

Survival item 2 My second survival item would be a fishing pole because if I wanted food I could just go down to the lake and go fishing. On page 90 Brian tried to catch fish with a spear but it would have been easier to use a fishing pole

Survival item 3 My third item would be a shotgun, because if I was hungry I could go hunting with it and if something came and tried to attack me I could protect myself. On page 70 brian could have used the shotgun to protect himself. if the bear tried to attack him he could have used the shotgun to kill the bear for food and it’s fur.

Survival item 4 My fourth survival item would be a first aid kit because if I got hurt or injured I could use it to heal myself so I could get better for more important things like finding food. On page 35 Brian could have used it when he hurt his head.

Survival item 5 My fifth item would be a tent so I would not worry about finding a shelter but I would bring a small tent so I could carry it on long distances. On page 57 he could have set up the tent instead of building every thing in his shelter.

Survival item 6 My sixth item would be binoculars because, I would be able to see the area and surroundings. I would also be able to see if a plane was coming or some other rescue vehicle was coming. On page 115 Brian could have used binoculars to see if it was a rescue plane coming by.

Survival item 7 My seventh survival item would be pans so I could cook food and boil water to make sure it is safe to drink and pans can also be a weapon to protect yourself. On page 98 Brian could have used a pan to cook the eggs.

Survival item 8 My eighth survival item would be hatchet or an axe. I would want an axe or a hatchet so I could cut down trees to get wood and you could kill an animal with it or protect yourself with it. On page 81 Brian could have used the hatchet to kill the porcupine.
