General Hideki Tojo Becomes Prime Minister in 1941, called “The Razor” Main goal is military expansion (imperialism throughout the Pacific). What country stood in the way? Negotiations between US and Japan were unsuccessful. An attack was emminent and happened on December 7, 1941

Pearl Harbor - “A day which will live in infamy” December 7, 1941, the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor and brought the U.S. into the war. U.S. declares war on Japan and soon after Germany declares war on the U.S. Two Fronts European Pacific President Roosevelt delivered his "Day of Infamy" speech to a joint session of Congress on December 8, 1941.
