Grading system
Credit system and workload One week = 1.5 swedish credits (hp) = ECTS One semester = 20 weeks = 30 credits A minimum of 40 h work per week Teaching methods: Scheduled activities (lectures, seminars etc) Unscheduled activities (group work, field work etc) Independent work (reading literature, preparing seminars or writing papers etc) Less scheduled time – more time for studying on your own – student responsibility!

Cheating and Plagiarism Is a serious offence Is always reported Can get you suspended It’s your responsibility to know the rules Read every instruction carefully Notes at written examens are never accepted unless the teacher explicitly says otherwise! Make sure you know how to make correct references to all material you use

DO Check out the schedule and all course information Buy or borrow the course littrature in good time befor the course start Participate active in classes, group work ect Get an even work load during the semester Study at least 40 hours per week Make time for unscheduled activities Ask your teachers, coordinators or study counsellors
DON’T save all the work for the end of the course skip classes sign up for trips or holidays unless you are sure it’s alright with your courses hesitate to contact your teacher or the support services at LiU!
