Austin Road Middle School 2018 Rising 6th Grade Summer Enrichment Program The Learning Revolution Continues!

Purpose To gain exposure to the upcoming Grade 6 curriculum content Provide Rising 6th Graders the opportunity to complete a substantial portion of introductory 6th grade content prior to the beginning of the upcoming school year To acclimate scholars early to the culture, climate, mission, and vision of Austin Road Middle School Opportunity to meet and greet members of the ARMS faculty and staff To empower scholars and instill a high level of confidence prior to beginning the school year

Attendance A maximum of ninety (75) scholars; first come, first serve enrollment Summer enrichment will occur at ARMS Scholars are encouraged to attend every day; two absences will exempt the scholar from grading/credit opportunities Scholars must be picked up by the designated time. Habitual (two) late pick-ups will be excused from the program

Program Dates Week 1 – Monday, June 4 – Friday, June 8 Week 2 – Monday, June 11 – Thursday, June 14

Lunch will be provided for the scholars each day. Program Schedule Monday – Friday (8:30 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.) 8:30 a.m. – 9:00 a.m. – Arrival of scholars/Breakfast 9:00 a.m. – 9:30 a.m. – Ice Breaker/Meet & Greet 9:30 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. – Breakout Sessions with Counselor & Graduation Coach 10:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. – Academic Session 1 (MATH) 11:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. – Brain Break (Games) 12:00 p.m. – 12:30 – Lunch 12:30 p.m. – 2:00 – Academic Session 2 (ELA) 2:00 p.m. - Dismissal Lunch will be provided for the scholars each day. Thursday, June 14th Group A Advisory Session: 9:05 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. Group B Advisory Session: 10:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m. – Fantastic Friday (Lunch & Fun Day) 1:00 p.m. - Dismissal During week two of the program, Friday’s schedule will be followed on Thursday, June 25.

Registration $60 Registration Fee; no checks Parents may pay directly to the school, via school website through Eventbrite

Discipline Scholars that disrupt the learning environment will be excused immediately from the program; no exceptions, no refunds.

Resources/ Materials Paper, pencils, electronic devices provided, etc. NO CELL PHONES needed during instructional time; phones must be off and stored in the Scholars back pack or pocket
