Body Paragraph Sandwich Yep, a paragraph is just like a sandwich!

Top Bread: Topic Sentence Relates to your thesis statement!!! Provides your reader an introduction into your paragraph

Meat: Text Evidence Provide a relevant direct or indirect quote from your book. Remember to cite it in MLA format!!

Cheese: Text Evidence Explanation You MUST thoroughly explain the text evidence. What was happening in the story? If it’s dialogue, why did the character say it? Can be more than one sentence!!

Veggies: Relate it to the Theme How does the text evidence relate to the theme? (Resilience through adversity)

Bottom Bread: Conclusion Sentence Complete your paragraph’s thoughts and provide your reader closure
