Mary is not simply a Lady Definition Adjective tells the attribute of a person, place or thing. This is a Big Car. This is a Golden Key. Mary is Beautiful Lady. This is not simply a car But A Big Car. This is not simply a key But A Golden Key. Mary is not simply a Lady But A Beautiful Lady So the words like Big, Golden and Beautiful are Adjectives which are Attributes of certain Nouns.

Uses of Adjectives. 1. Adjective is used to take out a specific Noun from a group of Nouns. 1 3 2 Which shirt do you like most? I like Green Shirt at Number one. 2. Adjective is also used to compare two or more then two Nouns. That is bigger ball. (In comparison with another ball)

Kinds of Adjectives (5) - Interrogative It puts a question to select a Specific Noun from a Group of Nouns e.g. Which, What, Whose Which book I want to read? What problem am I thinking? Whose umbrella is this? In such type of sentences a noun should come after the question making words

Formation of Comparative and Superlative (1) Adjectives with single syllable: - Positive Comparative Superlative Adjective Adjective + er Adjective + est Good Better Best Fast Faster Fastest Dark Darker Darkest Hippu is best football player among All. Hippu is good football player. Hippu is better football player than Mahesh.

Formation of Comparative and Superlative (2) Adjectives with more then one syllable: - Positive Comparative Superlative Adjective More + Adjective Most + Adjective Intelligent More Intelligent Most Intelligent Interested More Interested Most Interested Doubtful More doubtful Most Doubtful Gollum is intelligent student Gollum is more intelligent student than Bhodu. Gollum is most intelligent student in his class.

Position of Adjectives Attributive Predicative Used directly before Noun to describe it. Used after the Noun to describe it. Red Apple Apple is Red. Here, in this sentence the verb is acting as a LINKING Verb or a COPULA.
