Requirement of all Texas Citizens All Texans must serve on a jury

Right and Responsibility as Texans Voting for public officials (Voting)

Section 2. Texas Bill of Rights Texans may alter the government so as long as the government stays a representative democracy (republic)

Why is a Free Press important to Texans? People need to be informed to make valid decisions

Interest Groups Organize individuals with similar concerns Inform the public and elected officials Link the state and local political system to the national political concerns Bring attention to the political candidates who support their concerns Attempt to influence policy decisions of government officials

“Right to a Republican Form of Government” What does it mean? Citizens elect people to the legislature who represent their wishes (republicanism)
