Player Guidelines / Team Policies Circle Grade: 7 8 I will always do what is best for the team in all my actions. I will do nothing to bring disgrace or embarrassment to the Bulldog Football Program. I will follow all rules and regulations established by MMS and the Ellensburg School District. I will abide by Team policies, rules, and regulations. I will treat everyone with respect, courtesy, and class ( Coaches, teammates, teachers, classmates, any school district personnel ). I will be accountable, reliable, responsible and refrain from profanity. I will conduct myself in a manner that demonstrates class, dignity, and self control. I will be truthful in all my interactions and respect other teammates property. I will never disrespect a coach in any way or question his authority. I will not wear football cleats in the building. I will never miss or be late for any scheduled football activity. Consequence - BEAR Miss a practice, forfeit one quarter game time. Miss two practices, forfeit two quarters of playing time. Miss three practices or practice day before a game, forfeit ONE game playing time. I will always spread a positive message about Morgan Middle School and the Football Program. By signing this document I understand if I deviate from any of the above statements OR PLAYER EXPECTATIONS, I am subject to personal consequences or suspension / dismissal from the Bulldog Football Program. T.E.A.M. – Together Everyone Achieves More The Laws of Teamwork Law of the Big Picture: Everyone on the team must contribute for success. Everything starts with a vision, you have to have a goal. Successful teams have players who put the good of the team ahead of themselves. They want to play in their areas of strength, but they’re to do what it takes to take care of the team. They’re willing to sacrifice their role for the greater goal. If the vision for achieving the Big Picture is embraced by everyone in the group, those people have the potential to become a successful team. Law of the Chain: Winning attitude, you have to control your attitude. Be positive and enthusiastic. Team matters more than the individual. No one player is more important than the team. As much as any team likes to measure itself by its best players, the truth is the strength of a team is impacted by the next player up. Allow for differences in lifestyles. Everyone on the team must take the journey. Put aside all personal agendas and attitudes. Everyone must be on the same mission, success of the team. Law of the Bad Apple: Attitude, to be successful at a consistent level it takes talented people with a high positive mental attitude. Good attitudes among players do not guarantee a team’s success, but negative attitudes guarantee its failure. The winner’s edge is in the attitude . Attitudes has the power to lift up or tear down a team. There are plenty of talented teams who never amount to anything because of the negative attitudes of the players. This is always true, bad attitudes are the result of selfishness. “ Get out of yourself and into the team.” Law of Accountability: Accountability, teammates must be able to count on each other at all times. Character + Competence + Commitment + Consistency + Cohesion = Accountability. When all team members embrace each of these five qualities within themselves and with one another they can achieve the accountability for a team to succeed. Accountability begins with character because it’s based on trust, which is the foundation for all interaction with people. If you want teammates to have confidence in you, where they know they can count on you day in and day out, then you must be consistent. No excuses. The strength of a Team lies in the trust among teammates. You need to know for certain you can count on your teammates and they need to know they can count on you! Law of the Price Tag: Pay the price! Every team member must pay a price. There is no substitutes for work. It is the price of success! There are no victories at bargain prices. If you want to reach your potential, you can never let up! To improve, change, or keep being successful a group as a team must pay a price and so must the individuals. There is a cost of being part of a successful team. Sacrifice, Time Commitment, Personal Development , Unselfishness, and Open Communication between players and coaches. Law of Competition: Always Compete. It takes no skill, speed, strength, and ability to be a 6 second competitor. A 6 second competitor is an attitude and a habit! Not every person can start, but everyone can compete 100% of the time. Develop great work habits! Practice and play as fast as you can! Focus on your work ethic, not others! All you can control is the commitment your are developing!

That is why a team that reaches its potential always possesses playmakers. Playmakers have these common characteristics: Passion, Talent, Responsible, Generous, Committed, Accountable, and Influential. Every team needs playmakers to be successful consistently. Every person has the potential to be a playmaker. Player Expectations HAVE FUN! Be in good academic standings. Work to your potential in the classroom. Be a positive leader on and off the field. Your actions reflect the football program. Abide by a all team, school, and district rules. Abide by the athlete code. Respect other people’s property. Take care of your own. Attend all PRACTICES! Be a good teammate. Treat teammates with respect. Communicate. Sacrifice for the TEAM! Accept responsibility. Know your role. Strive to always give best effort! NO EXCUSES! Be on time. Always hustle. Know assignments. Compete! Develop into a 6 second player! Be mentally and physically tough in order to handle adversity. Sell, defend, and be loyal to the Bulldog Football Program. Be the best person you can be. Be a person of CHARACTER. Practice and play with great enthusiasm!
