Riding the School Bus By: Jan Youell, MS, CCC-SLP FCPS , Reston, Virginia

I get on the school bus safely

I like to say good morning to the bus driver I like to say good morning to the bus driver. They might be a man or a woman, and I smile at them. They are nice and are there to help me if I need to ask a question. They are my friend!

I sit down in my seat quietly and do not push or run I sit down in my seat quietly and do not push or run. I can either talk with the person sitting next to me or read or just sit quietly and enjoy the ride to school (or home).

Sometimes, the kids may get too noisy Sometimes, the kids may get too noisy. Sometimes they may not stay in their seats, but …

I know the bus driver will take care of it, and he or she will get us to school (or home) safely.

Sometimes I may have to wait longer for the bus, but I know it will get to my stop soon.

When I get off the bus, I will be safe and do what my bus driver tells me. YEA! I am at school or at home. I am glad I can meet new friends and get to school and home safely on the school bus.

The End
