Florida Facts Population: 18,801,310 Florida, the name calls up pastured pictures of blue, green seas. Florida’s landscape is uncommonly lush , punctuated by deep forests, rivers, lakes, and vast wetlands. The average two thirds of Florida’s days are sunny.

Brief Geography Florida is flat with a rolling landscape to its highest point in the Northwest. Three geographic land areas make up the Florida landscape. The Atlantic Coastal Plain: The Atlantic Plain stretches to Cape Cod, Massachusetts, around the Florida Peninsula, and the Gulf of Mexico. The East Gulf Coastal Plain: The East Gulf Coastal Plain, a sub-section of the Atlantic Plain. Florida Uplands: Florida uplands extends from the north, south and to the east, to separate the two sections of the East Gulf Coastal Plain and to separate the East Gulf Coastal Plain from the Atlantic Coastal Plain.
