28 July Holiday Schedules Holidays are treated as special case time zones
28 July Time Nomenclature All time values are stored in 24-hour format (AKA Military Time): –Midnight = 00:00 hours –8 A.M. = 08:00 hours –Noon = 12:00 hours –6 P.M. = 18:00 hours –11:30 P.M. = 23:30 hours
28 July Opening the Time Zones Window Open the Setup > Timezones Window by either: –Clicking the Timezones tool bar button –Clicking the pull-down menu option
28 July The Time Zone Window You can set four separate start/stop times –For all seven days-of-the-week –For up to three unique holiday schedules
28 July Always Time Zone Always - Always allows access or action
28 July Never Time Zone Never - Never allows access or action
28 July Time Zone Creation is a 4-Step Process 1.Clear the time zone spreadsheet 2.Enter the desired start and stop times for all days-of-the-week (the time period in which to allow access or action) 3.Enter a descriptive name 4.Save the new time zone Examples may best demonstrate how time zones are created
28 July Example 1 Allow access under the following times and days: –6:30 A.M. (06:30) to 5:30 P.M. (17:30) –Monday through Friday
28 July Clear the Time Zone Spreadsheet Click the button to clear the spreadsheet –Clears the time zone name field –Clears all spreadsheet values
28 July Enter the Desired Start Times Enter the time-of-day when access or action is allowed –6:30 A.M., Monday through Friday –Never access on Saturday and Sunday
28 July Enter the Desired Stop Times Enter the time-of-day when access or action is no longer allowed –5:30 P.M. (17:30 hours), Monday through Friday
28 July Enter a Descriptive Name Descriptive names make reading event reports easier Enter a name such as 6:30A-to-5:30P-M-to-F
28 July Save the Time Zone Click on the button to save the time zone
28 July Example 2 Allow access or action under the following times and days: –10 P.M. (22:00) to 7 A.M. (7:00) –Monday night/Tuesday morning through Friday night/Saturday morning This is a late-shift that is spread across two calendar days

28 July Enter the Monday Start/Stop Times Monday is entered in two segments –Never access on Sunday –Monday from 10 P.M. (22:00) to Midnight (00:00) is entered in the Start1/Stop1 slots –Tuesday from Midnight (00:00) to 7 A.M. (07:00) is entered in the Start1/Stop1 slots
28 July Enter the Tuesday Start/Stop Times Tuesday is entered in two segments –Tuesday from 10 P.M. (22:00) to Midnight (00:00) is entered in the Start2/Stop2 slots –Wednesday from Midnight (00:00) to 7 A.M. (07:00) is entered in the Start1/Stop1 slots
28 July Enter the Balance of the Week Remaining days are entered similar to Monday/ Tuesday –Beginning of work day from 10 P.M. (22:00) to Midnight (00:00) entered in the Start2/Stop2 slots –Ending of work day from Midnight (00:00) to 7 A.M. (07:00) entered in the Start1/Stop1 slots

28 July Save the Time Zone Click on the button to save the time zone
28 July Correcting a Time Zone Entry To edit a time zone: click in a cell, enter the correct time, and save the change –If you edit a time zone you may want to rename the time zone to reflect the time change
28 July Holiday Schedules Three different holiday schedules can be defined in Doors –Different holidays may have different access or action requirements, i.e. Memorial Day may have a short access/action schedule Christmas Day may not allow access/action at all Holiday schedules can then be added to an existing time zone as if they are another day- of-the-week
28 July Enter the Holiday Schedule Enter the date and the holiday name for each holiday Click the button when all holidays are entered
28 July Add the Holiday Time Zone Select a time zone to add the holiday schedule to Enter the Start and Stop times for this set of holidays Click the button
