Once you have created your login you will be directed to your email account for verification. Step 2 – After verification create and submit your Chapter 990 (e-postcard). Step 3 - Print and retain your confirmation for filing verification with the IRS. Step 4 – E-mail or US mail confirmation to National Treasurer for retention.

Additional Information Be sure to print and retain e-mail confirmation from IRS. Send a copy either electronically or via US mail to the National Treasurer for retention with National’s “Parent” Filing. The Chapter “Sub” filing is now a requirement from the IRS and must be completed between July 1 - 31 annually.

The IRS filing has been a requirement for National the “Parent” for some time and is now a requirement for all Chapters “Subs” per the IRS. What is my Chapter EIN? That has been sent in a separate e-mail to each Chapter Treasurer.
Q & A (continued) Why doesn’t the website say IRS? Urban Institute is an outside company that handles 990 e-postcard filings for the IRS. Who can answer detailed IRS questions? Q & A (continued) Is there a fee for completing the form? No. When the officer changes how do I change the information? To update your email address or other information you provided when you registered, take the following steps: On the e-Postcard home page, select Update User Record from the right-hand menu Enter your login ID and password and click Log In. From the Manage Users page, click Change Password to change your password or Edit to update other information.
Q & A (continued) Why does the organization name not include the chapter? When you enter your organization's EIN, the system will automatically insert the organization's legal name based on IRS records. What do I do if my e-postcard is rejected? When your e-Postcard was rejected, you should have received an email from our system describing the error's, and telling you who to contact to resolve the issue. In most cases, the email directs you to contact IRS Customer Account Services at 877-829-5500. When you contact Customer Account Services, you should have the reject email handy so you can provide the information they will need to resolve the issue.
