Presentation transcript:

Step one read and delete this slide Make this PowerPoint your own. Choose a theme Add animations or transitions you like Make sure it is legible, remember if the font is hard to read on a computer it is even harder to read on the projector. If you need to add another slide for any section feel free to do so. It is better to have a presentation with legible slides and more slides than cramming a lot of information on a very few slides. Once you finish you may email the PowerPoint to me or bring a flash drive. This is due Dec. 6th!

Project Title Name and Class Period

Question Phrase as a question (i.e. How will ________ affect _______?, What will _______________ ?)

Hypothesis Give a possible answer to your question, and state what research you did to lead you to that hypothesis

Variables Independent Variable: Dependent Variable: Controlled (Constant) Variables: (There will most likely be several controlled variables in a well run experiment.)

Materials List all materials and equipment used

Procedure List each step you took to complete your project. Be specific and include any measurements (use metrics!) that you had to use.

Results Insert your spreadsheet with your raw data here. You should also have a hand-written hard copy of your data to show. Also explain in words what happened, but don’t interpret any of the data yet (that will be saved for your conclusion). This is typically a very short section that will only explain WHAT happened, not WHY you think it happened.

Graph Insert your graph here. Remember to use the right kind of graph- Line graphs show change over time, bar graphs are for side-by-side comparisons and pie graphs are good for showing percentages. Make sure to include a legend (if necessary), both the X and Y axis are labeled and there is an appropriate title for the graph. Titles like “Line Graph” or “Gummy Bears” are not appropriate titles. The title should address both the independent and the dependent variable in some way (i.e. Amount of Gummy Bears Required to Sustain Activity Over Time). If you have more than on graph add another slide

Conclusion Explain what happened and why you believe it happened. Generally, this is a good place to cite more research, and explain if there were any instances where the integrity of your experiment may have been compromised (like if there was something you were unable to control, if you messed up on a step or two or if you think you may have gotten a false result).

Next Time What will you do next time when continuing your research? Is there a different variable you would like to experiment with? Is there another, more specific aspect you would like to explore?

Sources Cited Include the full List of sources cited in MLA format (you can find simple to use bibliography builders online or on Microsoft Word) You should have 5 total sources, from at least 2 different types of media (books, magazines, peer reviewed journals, RELIABLE internet sources, personal interviews with an expert, etc.)
