Module 5 Country Shape Types

Definitions Cohesiveness of a country – The ability of the country’s people, land, government, to remain in the country.

Elongated Longer North to South than East to West Chile

Fragmented A country that is made up of many different pieces of land. Philippines

Circular/Hexagonal A country that is round in shape. France

Small/Compact Countries that are smaller in square miles than their neighbors. Area of Bulgaria: total: 110,910 sq km Area - comparative: slightly larger than Tennessee

Perforated A country with another country entirely inside of it. South Africa

Prorupted A country with a narrow extension of land like a panhandle. Namibia
