What can you remember about mitosis? Meiosis What can you remember about mitosis?

-2N= 2 sets of chromosomes -Homologous chromosomes: each pair Haploid Chromosome Number Diploid  -2N= 2 sets of chromosomes  -Homologous chromosomes: each pair   Haploid  -Gametes  -N= 1 set of chromosomes  ex. chromosomes only from mother  -Produced by meiosis

Meiosis -2 cellular divisions -End-product is 4 haploid daughter cells  -Each of these are unique!!!

Crossing Over- homologous chromosomes switch pieces of chromosomes Important Moments Crossing Over- homologous chromosomes switch pieces of
chromosomes  -Happens during Prophase I  Tetrad- four chromatids during crossing over

Fertilization? -When sperm joins with the egg and creates a diploid organism.
