Tip #1 Start Deep-Breathing Sit with your eyes closed and turn your attention to your breathing. Concentrate on your breath and forget everything else. Your mind will be very busy, and you may even feel that the meditation is making your mind busier, but the reality is you're just becoming more aware of how busy your mind is. Resist the temptation to follow the different thoughts as they arise, and focus on the sensation of the breath. Repeat this as many times as necessary until your mind settles on the breath.

Tip #2 Know that feelings are not always facts We are our own worst critics. The only one who can truly judge us is God. Do your best. Instead of aiming for perfection, which isn’t possible, be proud of however close you get. Make an effort to replace your negative thoughts with positive ones.

Tip #3 Eat and Drink Eat well-balanced meals. Limit caffeine which can aggravate anxiety and trigger panic attacks. Eat snacks throughout the day to help boost your energy. Stay hydrated.

Tip #4 Do one thing you love every day Talk to someone you love, express your feelings of being overwhelmed. Volunteer or find another way to be active in the community which will help give you a break from everyday stress. Exercise or do some physical activity you enjoy doing whether that be going for a run or playing a sport or yoga.

Tip #5 Pray Talk to God about your feelings. Accept that you cannot control everything. Know God has a plan for you. Take time to step back from your problems and let God speak to you in the silence.
