Health Council Focus: Bringing Together Learning & Health Whole Child Framework: Responding to the call for greater alignment, integration, and collaboration between education and health to improve each child's cognitive, physical, social, and emotional development. Incorporating the components of a coordinated school health program around the tenets of a whole child approach to education. National Health Education Standard Overview Comprehend concepts related to health promotion and disease prevention Analyze the influence of family, peers, culture, media, technology, and other factors on health behaviors. Access valid information, products, and services to enhance health. Use communication, decision-making, and goal-setting skills to enhance health and avoid or reduce health risks. Practice health-enhancing behaviors and avoid or reduce health risks. Advocate for personal, family, and community health.
