What is Morality? The quality of human acts by which we call them right or wrong, good or evil.” (Panizo, 1964) 2 basic human gifts: Intellect = Our ability to think Free will = Our ability to choose Freedom: In the Christian understanding means the doing what is good and avoiding evil.

Foundational Moral Principle Principle: from the latin word princips meaning beginning or source It is that by which something is based, founded, originated and initiated Natural law: That which is written in the hearts of men. Every man shares in the Eternal Law of God (Panizo, 1964) The light of natural reason, whereby we discern what is good and what is evil… (St. Thomas) Doing good and avoiding evil

Why is it important? For us to have a guide in our teaching profession To help us discern and arrive at a more sound decision in our lives as teachers To develop wisdom in order to survive in the profession
