Muslims Conquer India Muslims in India were known to be a minority group until Babur started his campaign to conquer all of India. No muslims paid taxes that caused tension between the two religious groups. Zamindars were placed to collect taxes from the local peasants. The sectarian tax made non muslims pay more. Tenison again were risen. But thanks to Akbar the tension was lowered. Until other rulers came along and ruined the empire and which it did leading to The Indian Rebellion of 1857. Bahadur Shah II was exiled to British India (Present day Burma) by The British ending the great legacy of The Mughal Empire.

The Mughal Empire Started from Babur going through the khyber pass, conquering the north then following south. Then the successors took over and applied their input. Sadly declined because of rulers and the British.

Babur Zahir-Ud-Din Muhammad Babur (4/14/1428 - 12/26/1530) founded the Mughal Empire. He is the descendants of Timur and Genghis Khan (Mughal in Arabic mean Mongols.) First major battle to conquer India was The Battle of Panipat (1525). The Punjabs surrendered and Babur became their master. Then The Battle with The Rajputs, he again won, taking Delhi and Agra.

Akbar Abu'l-Fath Jalal ud-din Muhammad Akbar (10/15/1542 - 10/27/1605) Known as the greatest ruler of the Mughal Empire. He created a policy that accepted other religions and advocated tolerance. During his reign, created a powerful military system and instituted effective political and social reforms. By abolishing the sectarian tax on non-Muslims and appointing them to high civil and military posts, he was the first Mughal ruler to win the trust and loyalty of the native subjects
