Presentation transcript:

Dry Run 0 Week 13: BI test of...everything circulating beam: all fixed displays and BI applications OP directories for 2009, concentrators running Need to have an operational Hyper Cycle (another one to test software) MCS tests of: Check all existing critical settings after RBAC release LHC BLMs, CISx (SMP parameters)....maybe collimators MKI ExpertSettings and SoftstartSettings, BetsBem, BetsBei, IPOC, MKD and MKB critical settings test Point 6 interlocked BPMs (BPMITLHC)....which role to be used: ABT is for MCS-BT-LBDS BPMSA.A4L6.B1/InterlockSetting BPMSB.A4R6.B1/InterlockSetting BPMSB.A4L6.B2/InterlockSetting BPMSA.A4R6.B2/InterlockSettin Only missing then for start-up: maybe collimators, FEI

Program for Wednesday week 13 - BI Check application + logging + fixed display: YASP orbit + FIFO: will have simulated data Multiturn ← capture events for BPMs BLMs: running sums and capture events NEED TO MAKE SURE THAT ENERGY IS LOGGED Abortgap Monitor BCTs Wire scanners, synchrotron light monitor LHC timing BTVs – will play sequencer driven timing tables Proxies → fixed displays and application; logging? NO beam dumped events, NO post mortem events Tune: wait for Ralph...

Dry Run I – injection equipment week 14 (2nd and 3rd of April) and week 15 (for BI rather) MKI 8: run it from control room New softstart OASIS: BCT + MKIs; logging Beam permit loops: need to jumper out also injection BICs Energy OK from energy from simulation Application??: need to make sure that can run it through LSA Application will be ready in week 16 only → SM18 shifts Timing: ready for week 14 Test mode stuff (need to verify!!) → got email from Jean-Claude: first version will be ready: need to have a little application as well. Just ONE button (only as lhcop). RF needs to generate the pre-pulse: Andy told me should be OK Fixed displays TI 8 and TI 2 Critical settings for FEI? Prepare DC functions (can’t run it...interlocked) All BI, usual stuff Logging for new BPMs...new logging for the PC Injection BI: again concentrators (BLM [also capture] and BPM), injection region BTVs, run injection tables BTV proxies: for all SPS BTVs

Dry Run II Week 17 (23rd and 24th of April) - Injection Beam 1 and beam 2 injections if possible with the BIS MKI 2 like before Week 17 – LBDS software LBDS monitoring application (no functional test yet, only communication): needs RBAC for the acknowledge Arming of IPOC and BETS testable (BetsSim) → test new sequences as far as possible Also, the new CIBG generators and communication with it...for the time being LBDS jumpered out XPOC (play-back mode), logging Dump line BI with XPOC events (should trigger XPOC): fixed displays FBCTs, BLMs, BTVs, BPMs (interlocked BPM), Abort gap monitor

Dry Run III Week 20 - 22 TT40/TT60 beam tests Will take out some time from CNGS for TT40. Test of mastership business: Injection sequencer fully available (new mastership request: don’t need to remove user request to become master, can become master also when in spare (if tagged TO_LHC, but no dynamic destinations under spare); new mastership request removes: TI8_dump/TI2_dump request and sets requested batches to zero and does the same thing again when removing mastership; SIS also verifies that if dynamic destination is TI8_dump or TI2_dump the downstream TEDs must be in) Would be good to have first version of IQC integrated in injection sequencer Date not defined yet: during MD without extraction (long LHC cycle): requesting different filling patterns (different # batches) under LHC mastership

Planning for the next stuff... As soon as we have a little bit of experience with the first dry runs, we plan the next ones. Beam dump we can only fully test from the control room from week 29 (beam 2). Need to test as much as possible before...need to figure that out. MKQA and AC Dipole not covered yet.
