Sport plays an important role in our life Sport plays an important role in our life. Sport makes people healthy, keeps them fit, more organized and better disciplined. People go in for many kinds of sports. There are sports grounds near every school, every institute, every factory and plant. Besides there are sports clubs and sport school in every town.

The most popular kinds of sport in Russia: volleyball basketball football skating Figure skating tennis Ice hockey

I do not go in for sports but I like extreme kinds of sports, especially surfing.

SURFING – kind of aquatics, competition for speed, range of movement on the big waves on a special board.

The Olympic Games is the most important competition The Olympic Games is the most important competition. The OG have a very long history. They began more than two thousand years ago in Greece. The famous Games at Olympia took place every 4 years and all the cities in Greece sent their athletes to take part in them. The Games were very popular and thousands of Greeks used to watch them. It became a tradition even to stop wars for the time of the OG, and people lived in peace. The competitions lasted five days. The winners in each kind of sport or art got on olive wreath.
