The Slow Process of Weathering Landforms

Weathering The breaking up of rocks by water, ice, acid rain, plant roots, and burrowing animals. Weathering can be a very SLOW process!

Water Weathering Water can dissolve the minerals in landforms.

WATER WEATHERING: Moving water can also wear down rocks:

Ice Weathering If water freezes into cracks in a rock, it will expand as it freezes, opening the cracks even more.
