There are 2 types of weathering:
Mechanical and Chemical

3. Mechanical Weathering
Process by which rocks are broken down into smaller pieces by physical forces.

8. Chemical Weathering
the process that breaks down rock through chemical changes.
Water – dissolves rock over time
Oxygen – combines with iron to form rust (oxidation)
Carbon dioxide – dissolves in water to form carbonic acid

11. Carbon dioxide dissolves in water to form carbonic acid that weakens limestone and marble

12. This can cause sink holes and caves
