Valve Manifold Assembly/Disassembly MSD P17453 Poppet Valve Test Rig Valve Manifold Assembly/Disassembly Abstract: The P17453 Valve Manifold replicates the geometry found on the Dresser-Rand ESH-1 reciprocating compressor. It is responsible for housing the poppet valves and the pneumatic channels for airflow through the system. The primary assembly components are the nuts and O-rings responsible for an air tight seal. Tools Required: 3/8 Deep Socket and Torque Wrench Assemble the desired combination of poppets and springs in the Valve Housing [2] ensuring the springs are properly seated. With inner O-ring [5] seated in the Valve Seat Block [1] O-ring gland, locate the dowel pin holes on the Valve Seat Block [1] and slide the Valve Housing [2] over the assembly studs ensuring correct orientation and alignment of the pressed in dowel pins of the Valve Housing [2] to the dowel pin holes. With the outer O-ring [5] seated in the Collector [6] O-ring gland, slide the Collector [6] over the assembly studs the same as before. Ensure both O-rings [5] are properly seated and aligned in BOTH of their respective glands. Press the Collector [6] against the Valve Housing [2] to engage both O-rings [5] in their respective glands and both dowel pins in their respective holes. While holding the Collector [6] in place, install the four Washers [7] and 3/8-24 Nuts [8] on each assembly stud hand tight then release hold on the Collector [6] Using a 3/8 Deep Socket Wrench, tighten the four nuts to 10 ft-lbs Insert the Back Pressure Tank Quick Release Air hose fitting into the Collector [6] end. Attach accelerometer cables to their respective sensor. Disassemble in reverse order 11/30/2018 MSD P17453
