2. Governor Control Arm Using a 10mm socket install the two bolts that hold the governor control arm. Finger tighten then torque to 100 “#

3. Spring Install the spring from the control lever.

4. Muffler Heat Shield Replace the cardboard heat shield. This will go on the opposite side of the control arm.

5. Muffler Install the muffler. Make sure it is on the correct way.

7. Muffler Heat Shield Install the muffler heat shield. Using a 10mm socket insert the two nuts that hold on the muffler heat shield. Torque to 100 “#

8. Dip Stick Install dip stick Using a 10mm socket install the bolt that holds the oil dipstick. Torque to 80 “#

9. Gas Tank Bracket Using a 10mm socket install the bracket that holds the gas tank. Torque to 80”#

10. Install the fuel line to the gas tank, before installing the gas tank. Reinstall the hose clamp.

11. Gas Tank Installation Put gas tank on then install the shoulder bolts. Using a 10mm combination wrench carefully install the three shoulder bolts to the engine block. Notice that the gold bolt is connecting the armature. Do not tighten the gold bolt at this point. You will need to set the armature gap first.

12. Setting Armature Gap Insert the feeler gauge between the flywheel and the armature. Snug the armature up to the feeler gauge then tighten the armature bolt, repeat for the gold bolt. We will not be able to torque this, since we do not have a 10mm deep well socket.

13. Armature Cont. Connect the white wire to the underside of the armature.

14. Gas Tank & Bracket Using a 10mm socket install the two screws holding on the gas tank. Torque to 80”#

16. Carb Installation Install spacer. Install large heat shield.

17. Carb Installation Install large heat shield.

18. Installing Carb. Install the carb on the bolts. Reconnect the skinny spring first being careful not to stretch it, then attach the larger rod.

19. Installing Carb. Cont. Attach the gas hose to the connector on the side of the carb.

20. Carb. Installation Cont. Reconnect the skinny spring first being careful not to stretch it.

21. Carb. Installation Cont. Install the larger heaver gauge wire, being careful not to bend it.

22. Now carefully work the linkage spring in its hole on the carburetor throttle lever. Be careful not to stretch the spring! Gently attach the carb on its mount. Remove heat spacer from between the carb & the engine block.

23. Hose Clamp Use pliers to move the clamp on the fuel line next to the carb.

24. Filter Back Plate Install the hose to the breather cover plate. Attach hose from the carb to the left side of the filter back plate.

25. Insert the air breather hose on the right hand side.

26. Filter Back Plate Cont. Hook up the small hose to the primer on the filter back plate.

27. Air Filter Backing Plate With a 10mm socket insert the one bolt on the right side and the two nuts on the left side. Torque to 80”# Bolt Nuts

28. Air Filter Install the air filter.

29. Air Filter Cover Install the air filter cover.

30. Remove gas cap. Install the spacers and the blower housing. Install the gas cap.

31. Recoil Carefully insert the recoil, notice the position the handle is in, so you put it back on in the correct position. Torque to 80”#

33. Blower Housing Cont. With an 8mm socket insert two bolts on the opposite end of the engine that the recoil is on. Torque to 80”#

34. Remove Cover Using a #10 star tip and a bit driver, install the four screws to attach the recoil cover.
