InnovaWood Overview Strategy Members network Forest, wood-based and furniture Support Innovation Strategy - People - Research - Partnerships InnovaWood is the European network and is an umbrella organisation that integrates the activities of member organisations involved in the Forest, Wood-based and Furniture industries into a more effective mechanism to support innovation in these sectors. Our mission statement is: "Towards an integrated European innovation, research and skills development area for the forest - wood industry chain"

InnovaWood Vision Mission InnovaWood is Europe’s No1 innovation, education and training network based on wood and furniture for enhancing Europe’s leading position. Mission InnovaWood is structured into four key thematic areas: strategy and impact; research and innovation; knowledge transfer; and education and training. Based upon its activities, InnovaWood is the leading provider for partnering woodworking and other forest-based industries with excellent knowledge and competences for innovation, education and training.

InnovaWood network Profile In total more than 10.000 staff members are employed in our network, from which 3200 are senior scientist, 493 post doc, 967 PhDs without senior status. Other staff categories include technical, VET and administrative support staff. More than 3500 staff members are involved in teaching and lecturing activities in different education programmes.

InnovaWood Strategy Main objectives Assist, maintain and consolidate permanent linkages between its members; Promote innovation in the different sectors it represents; Create a supporting Network in the areas of R&D, education and training, and technology transfer; Implement a communication system between all members of the network as well as with the EU Commission and industry; Support the actions of the EU Commission in keys areas of policy, and to support the effectiveness of European activities; Develop a co-ordination mechanism between research and training providers, adequate to the scale of the sector.
