4. Number of Consortium Members
New programme: Commission expects 6 to 10 Beneficiaries to be the norm
Max of 540 researcher-months for the secondments (some rules associated with secondment)
Who can receive the funding?
Member States and Associated Counties automatically receive funding
Non-European (Third)Countries:
High-Income Counties (now includes BRICs) don’t automatically get funding – can participate, but pay their own way
A list of Third countries who automatically get funding is in Annex A to the Horizon 2020 Work Programme.

Decide which RISE you will target: International, Inter-sectoral or a combination
Start forming your consortium, or seek to join one “under formation”
Apply to Enterprise Ireland for travel funding to meet partners
Look at the websites of previously-funded projects (find them on CORDIS Projects)
Decide on a writing strategy (e.g. lead writing partner, split the sections amongst the partners, how to receive input from others)
If coordinating, apply to EI for Coordinator Support Funding. Will you work with a consultant?
Let your research office know that you are applying
Start planning your research & training programme (work packages etc.)
