Everyday we live in a world that becomes more closed and individualistic, have started to disassemble and denigrate the things that allow us to act collectively; CC is one of the most powerful tools for enabling us to work together synchronously and asynchronously to advance the collective good.. .a no permission required space to innovate and create.   This necessarily means we will never do one thing, since we are infrastructure for this kind of collective action. We will always have to balance what we lose by not playing in somewhere at all. I want us to enable collective action in the area of creativity, knowledge,.. Unlock that, enable it, and see more of it. Get worried if remix is not happening. Are we enabling the things we want to happen, e.g. remix. Where we are unlocking more than free, is where we are having meaningful impact. Use, reuse, creativity, creation. Idea of collective action is key CC creates the opportunity to think about what ideal or model should look like in education, in research, GLAM, in sectors that produce, maintain creative works. Even if you can use us to make marginal improvements, we’re also in the game of analyzing existing structures/empires and reimagining what they could be as open. We analyze, critique, and disrupt existing empires.

Universal Access to Education is a human right. Literacy, citizenship, pluralistic democracies. Access to info is one thing. Education = literacy, critical thinking skills, leverage info into knowledge Every nation in the world wants to provide a good education for their citizens. Goal 4 targets include: - ensure all girls and boys complete free, equitable and quality primary and secondary education leading to relevant and effective learning outcomes. - ensure equal access for all women and men to affordable and quality technical, vocational and tertiary education, including university - ensure that all learners acquire the knowledge and skills needed to promote sustainable development, including, among others, through education for sustainable development ========= Photo credit for SDG4 By: United Nations at: https://sustainabledevelopment.un.org/sdg4 (using under Fair Use) Smile.
