Presentation transcript:

Lesson 5.1-5.2 How do you add and subtract fractions? To add and subtract fractions you need common denominators. Add the numerators and reduce your answer.

Lesson 5.3 – 5.4 How do you multiply and divide fractions? To multiply fractions, multiply the numerators, multiply the denominators. Reduce your answer. To divide fractions, multiply by the reciprocal of the second fraction. Reduce your answer.

Lesson 5.5 How do you write fractions as decimals? Divide the denominator into the numerator. How do you write decimals as fractions? The place value of the last digit of the decimal gives you the denominator. To write a repeating decimal as a fraction, you have to create two equations and solve.

Lesson 5.6 How do you add and subtract decimals? To add and subtract decimals, line up the decimal points and then add or subtract each column.

Lesson 5.7 How do you multiply and divide decimals? To multiply decimals, multiply just like whole numbers. The total number of decimal places in the problem is the number of decimal places needed in the answer. To divide decimals, make the divisor an integer by moving its decimal point. Then move the dividend’s decimal point the same number of places. Divide like whole numbers.

Lessons 5.8 What can you use the mean, median, mode and range for? The mean, median, mode and range are used to describe sets of data.
