How to use DATABASES

What is a DATABASE? a collection of data group selections based on similar topics, sources, dates, etc. purchased on a monthly basis by the library best way to access academic journals, peer-reviewed articles and credible sources of information

How to access a DATABASE you will need your library card!!! go to the Essa Public Library website and click “electronic resources” scroll down and click on “Ebsco eBooks…”

Enter whole library card number DATABASE #1 the best links for you would be: Enter whole library card number

click or type in your topic keep refining your search until options of articles are displayed choose your source “add” puts it into a saved folder

when you click the title, all of the bibliographical information will appear along the top, as well as the abstract scroll down to read the whole text or click “HTLM full text” or “PDF full text”

type in your topic refine your results by clicking “full text” and dragging the bar to change the publication date (years 2000-2013 would be best) click update scroll through the options periodical vs. academic journal

when you click the title, all of the bibliographical information will appear along the top, as well as the abstract scroll down to read the whole text or click “PDF full text”
