6 EBSCOhost is a very general database and contains reputable information on numerous topics. It is a great place to start your research searching. Within EBSCOhost there are many different databases included. I believe the best place to start is to search through all of them at the beginning and then you can start to narrow down your search. So, click on EBSCOhost databases (A – Z list).

Check the box Select/deselect all. Then click on Continue. We are now telling EBSCO that we want to search through all of their databases.

8 Now we can start our search
Now we can start our search. Type in search words to begin your research. If you want to use a search term, like “social media” be sure to include quotation marks so EBSCO knows that you want to keep those 2 words together when conducting the research and within your results.

9 Using Boolean searching, the word AND can limit your search results because we are telling EBSCO we want to include, for example, both words dogs AND cats in our results. If we choose OR we are expanding our search by including either dogs or cats in our search. By choosing NOT we are limiting our search by telling EBSCO dogs not puppies, for example.
