Light Notes “Where is the way where light dwells? And as for darkness, where is the place thereof, that you should take it to the bound thereof, and that you should know the paths to its home?”

Light ~ energy emitted by vibrating electric charges that travels as an electromagnetic wave (part electric, part magnetic) (transverse wave)

When light hits something it can be: 1. reflected (bounce off) 2. transmitted (goes through) 3. absorbed (stopped)

Speed of light =“c” = 3 x 108 m/s (in a vacuum) Electromagnetic Spectrum ~ a range of many kinds of ‘em’ waves including radio waves, microwaves, visible light, and x-rays Speed of light =“c” = 3 x 108 m/s (in a vacuum)

Electromagnetic Spectrum

Visible Light (the part we see with our eyes)

Where is the way where light dwells Where is the way where light dwells? and as for darkness, where is the place thereof, that you should take it to the bound thereof, and that you should know the paths to its home?”
