Presentation transcript:

DID YOU KNOW HYDROGEN SULFIDE (H2S) IS A COLORLESS, FLAMMABLE GAS THAT CAN BE DEADLY. H2S may be present in oil and natural gas produced from wells with sulfur and sulfides. H2S is colorless, and thus invisible to the naked eye, and has the odor of rotten eggs. Before working at a site that could produce H2S, ensure your personal protective equipment and H2S sensor are in good working order. Keep your face clean-shaven to ensure a safe seal in the event a respirator is necessary. Use personal or permanent area sensors to monitor H2S levels before and during operations. Know the evacuation routes and meeting points. And remember —evacuate upwind or cross-wind, not in the direction the wind is blowing. At Halliburton, Priority No. 1 is safety. You can find more safety tips at www.halliburton.com/HSE. S H Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) Hydrogen Sulfide (H2S)
