Background Product History First release – Quarter 4 2000 Current version 5.1.3 Hundreds of Worldwide Customers ApplinX is a very mature tool, used in Banks, Insurance Companies, Government Agencies, Universities, etc… It is a flexible tool that fits into a large variety of environments. Author / 27.11.2018 / 2 Software AG

ApplinX Architecture User Interface Database Web Browser HTML MS IE, FireFox, Opera, Netscape Application .NET/ASP Java/JSP Portal MS SharePoint IBM WebSphere CA Cleverpath Plumtree SOA BizTalk, Office, MQ Series User Interface Service-enablement Web Service .NET Java Web-Enablement HTML Java/JSP .NET/ASP 3270, 5250, VT, HP, Unisys, Tandem Multi-screen Composing Security Repository Development Environment (IDE Plug-In’s) Terminal Protocol ApplinX Server (Runtime, J2EE) Database ApplinX Architecture as a stand alone server: Right side (back-end) – communication with the back-end is done in three ways: Screens protocols over TCP/IP (3270, 5250, VT, etc.) Database access via ODBC or JDBC ApplinX Server The ApplinX repository is a database used only by ApplinX Server to store the ApplinX application entities. It can be any ODBC / JDBC compliant database. ApplinX Server communicates with the back-end application (as previously described) and exposes the following interfaces: Session display interface – represents the current host screen, and accessed by the ApplinX Web Frameworks which display it to the end user. Web Services procedure interface – an interface exposing ApplinX Procedures as Web Services. Can be accessed from any application that supports invocation of Web Services: SOAP over HTTP, Compiled .NET or Java Objects J2EE / IIS Application Server When web enabling a host application, ApplinX Web Frameworks are used and reside under Microsoft IIS (for .NET) or under any J2EE application server (for JSP). The frameworks communicate with ApplinX Base Object (ABO), which communicates with the ApplinX Server’s display interface to process and display the current host screen. The web application consists of instant pages, created on the fly by the framework, and customized pages developed by ApplinX developers. The web application can also execute ApplinX Procedures and display their results to the end user. Left side (end user applications) In case of web enabling, the end user can be any browser end user: an internet or intranet user or a mobile user (PDA, mobile phone etc.). In case of Web Service, the “user” can be any kind of application that would like to access host resources, and supports web services execution. ApplinX provides ready-made adapters for various enterprise applications, such as Microsoft BizTalk, IBM MQ, etc. SQL JDBC ODBC MS SQL Server, Oracle, etc.. Windows, Linux, UNIX z/OS, VSE, VM, Unix, HP e3000, AS/400, UNISYS, Hitachi, Fujitsu, Tandem Author / 27.11.2018 / 3 Software AG

Value Proposition Access / Re-Engineer Instant Secured Access to Host Pure HTML access - WWW.YOUR-COMPANY.C0M Workflow changes (1 page with 8 Tabs vs. 8 Screens, combo box in menu screens etc.) State of the art User Interface (Standard Development environment) Expose the emulation software in a browser to avoid local installations of the software Enhance the user interface to have a true “web” look and feel Add new business value by combining screens into a single web page and send/retrieve information from other sources by leveraging the web architecture that runs the ApplinX Web applications. Author / 27.11.2018 / 4 Software AG

Value Proposition Integrate / Migrate Host Integration Services Web services infrastructure to expose legacy/packaged application assets as ready to serve services. Creation of new entities / Components Integration between Host/s and other systems (CRM, IVR, ERP etc.) Wrap the transactions and encapsulate these processes that can be called remotely. XML/SOAP is automatically created based on these definitions. .NET and Java code is generated based on these definitions Create new applications that send/receive information from the legacy applications Expose these objects to other developers and organizations who do not need to know anything about ApplinX or the Legacy Applications. Author / 27.11.2018 / 5 Software AG
