How do we plan to live on Mars The Pros and Cons of living on Mars

The Colonization of Mars Mars is the most suitable planet for living organisms in the solar system other than Earth. It has a thin atmosphere making it able to host humans and other living organisms. The first and most important step in making Mars habitable is to warm it up, raising the average temperature 35 to 55 degrees. The next step is turning Mars green and producing a breathable atmosphere, which will be a much longer and more difficult process.

Average Temperature This graph shows the average temperature of Mars

The Pros If we would colonize Mars we could have a whole new planet to live on. Their would be more space for humans to live on. Once we have food and water we would have more resource to supply humans.

The Cons It will take over 100,000 years for trees to transform a blue sky. A fully transformed Mars may never be as warm and wet as Earth because it’s too small and too far from the sun. Much of the new Mars would be an icy world, like summer above the Arctic Circle, with pressure equivalent to a mountain twice the height of Mt. Everest. It takes an average of 9 months to get to Mars
