Cruising to Island Vibes Spring Pep Assembly 2018

Get ready to surf the waves of our final spirit week!

General Information: Advisory door competition Spirit Week: April 23-27, 2018 Elimination: staff versus students Treasure chest hunt Dress up days Lunch time island festivities in the Commons Assembly: April 27, 2018

Advisory Door Competition It’s back—the battle of the classes! Collaborate with your advisories to create the ultimate getaway door to your dream, island vacation spot! Doors will be judged and scored during spirit week. Timeline: Thursday, April 5 Review guidelines, plan doors, and request supplies Thursday, April 19 LAST DAY TO REQUEST SUPPLIES Thursday, April 26 Set up doors in advisory classes Door judging will take place after school

Elimination What is it? When? Sign-ups: Our annual capture-the-flag game between our staff and students! When? The game will run Tuesday, April 24 through Thursday, April 26 Sign-ups: Taking place in the Commons during both lunches ***Staff members, Email Ms. DiAsio to sign up Mandatory informational meeting: Thursday, April 19 at 2:05pm in Ms. DiAsio’s room This will take 5-10 minutes. If you do not attend, you cannot play Pick up game flag: Monday, April 23 in the Commons during both lunches.

Treasure Hunt What is it? Where are the combos? There will be a chest created by Mr. Rahr and his students that we have filled secret treasures! It will be locked up in the Commons during the spirit week. To access the treasures, you must find the correct combination to unlock it. Where are the combos? They are written on note cards. Hundreds of note cards, in fact! These note cards will be placed all over the school. How do YOU get the treasure? Find note cards, try the combinations. The person who finds the correct one and opens the chest gets the treasure!

Spirit Week Dress Up Days Monday, April 23: Sunny Bright Coax out the summer sun and wear bright yellow colors! Tuesday, April 24: Tourist Tuesday Pull out your visors, clip on your fanny packs, bust out your cargo shorts, and dab some sunscreen on your nose. Wednesday, April 25: Wavy Wednesday Roll up to school in blue shades of waves. Turquoise, cyan, indigo, teal, viridian, and more! Thursday, April 26: Floral-print Day Hawaiian flowers and floral prints? Yes, those types of clothes! Let’s get a tropical jungle in our halls. Friday, April 27: Color Wars You know what to do. Seniors wear red; juniors wear black; sophomores wear white; freshmen wear gray.

Lunchtime activities in the Commons: Lunchtime activities will be taking place in the Commons. Come and join in the festivities! Activities are outlined on the following slides.

Monday, April 23: Island Mapping Create your own island and put it on the ocean map in the commons! We will have: A large blue ocean map for you to place your island Island cutouts for you to decorate We will also have a photo booth and props! Week-long activities: Elimination Treasure chest hunt Advisory door competition

Tuesday, April 24: Class Banners Decorate your class banners in preparation for the assembly! We will have: Tables set up with each class banner. Coloring supplies will be provided. Week-long activities: Elimination Treasure chest hunt Advisory door competition

Wednesday, April 25: DIY Postcards Create your own tropical getaway postcards to “send” notes to your friends. We will have: Tables set up with note cards, markers, and other supplies! We will also have pineapple cutouts to pass pineapple notes! Week-long activities: Elimination Treasure chest hunt Advisory door competition

Thursday, April 26: Lei Making Spruce up your floral attire with a lei necklace! We will have: Tables set up with paper flower cutouts and string! Week-long activities: Elimination Treasure chest hunt Advisory door competition

Friday, April 27: Island Luau Party it up island style! We will have: A photo station with props Limbo competition Hula hoops Chalk for in the courtyard Week-long activities: Elimination Treasure chest hunt Advisory door competition
