Who - Peer Learning Senior Officer (April 2016 - ) "The role will develop a sustainable peer mentoring model that can be rolled out across the University, co-ordinating the work within faculties, supporting new and pilot schemes, promoting peer mentoring and managing the implementation and day-to-day running of the programmes. Works across the L&SSS Directorate establishing networks and sharing good practice on peer mentoring schemes."

What - Support 158 students trained in 2016-17 Consultation, training and resources for: Mentoring PASS/PAL Group Work Facilitation Knowledge Exchange Support provided in 2016-17: Student Funding and Access Support Careers and Employability Business and Enterprise Film and Media Production Computer Security Games Software Development Psychology Children, Young People and Families PESS Midwifery Bridge pilot (involving 4 SBS cohorts) 158 students trained in 2016-17 Support made available to over 700 students

Feedback from staff member supported this year: "The support I have received from Nick has been invaluable in enabling us to have the confidence to establish a peer mentoring pilot. The training and resources provided for mentors and mentees have been excellent. The opportunity to meet regularly to review the progress of the scheme and hear about the experiences of others doing similar things across the University has also helped to keep us on track and generate ideas for how to approach each stage of the process."

Feedback from student leader training (What did you find most helpful about the training?): "Just all of it, was helpful to bring information to the front of the mind and being prepared" "Nick was really good and adaptable to every situation was pushed his way"

Feedback from students (who attended group facilitation session run by students): "It helps us to do the timetable, to track the progress of the group project" "How to break down tasks, how to allocate tasks bases on group members strengths and weaknesses"

Mature student who received support: "I have had my first meeting with my buddy. She was lovely. Really helpful. It was great to talk to someone in the same situation as me, i.e. the only mature student on the course. We have arranged another meeting in a few weeks."
