Healthy People 2010 Two overriding goals Increase quality and years of healthy life Eliminate health disparities Goals can be monitored through 467 objectives in 28 focus areas (Table 5-1) Each objective target date for improvement is 2010

Ten Leading Health Indicators Used to measure health of the nation Each indicator has specific objectives Physical activity Overweight and obesity Tobacco use Substance abuse
