Listen closely to all directions given by the test administrator. Pace yourself, don’t rush. Read the entire question and pay attention to details. Eliminate answer choices that you are positive are incorrect. Choose the best answer.

Put your best effort into the test. Be confident. If you don’t know an answer, skip it. Go on with the rest of the test and come back to it later. Use your annotation strategies (RUNNERS, etc.) and work out each problem. Write in the margins of the book or on your scrap paper. Put your best effort into the test. Be confident.

“The Man Who Thinks He Can” By Walter D. Wintle If you think you’re beaten, you are. If you think you dare not, you don’t. If you like to win but think you can’t, It’s almost a cinch you won’t. If you think you’ll lose, you’ve lost For out in the world you’ll find Success begins with a fellows will It’s all in the state of mind. If you think you’re outclassed you are. You have to think high to rise. You have to be sure of yourself Before you can ever win a prize. Life’s battles don’t always go to the stronger or faster man, But sooner or later the one who wins, Is the man who THINKS he can…
