Moving from bed to chair or wheelchair Push yourself to sitting position Reach under an bend knees one at a time Move legs until feet are on the floor Lock brakes. Lean forward. Push up on arms and move into wheelchair

If the person cannot move from bed to chair or wheelchair alone… You can try using a board for them to slide across

If the person cannot move from bed to chair or wheelchair alone… Have the person hold you around your shoulders. Hold the person under their bottom or around their hips. Have the person help you as much as they can to move from the chair to bed (or bed to chair).
