Why create an update tool? IQCare has version updates 2-3 times per year It also has interim updates to fix defects or add critical enhancements Users find the number of updates arduous to load; it’s easy to make a mistake The update tool helps users make version and patch updates correctly and easily

Introduction The IQCare Auto Update Tool will automatically update your IQCare application to the version you want. It has the option of doing: a local update (update files are available on the computer being updated.) An online update (will first download the update files then install). The files will be installed in a chronological order (with respect to release date of the update file)

Launch the application In the start Menu, click on “IQCare Auto Update”. On the desktop, click on “IQCare Auto Update” shortcut.

ONLINE UPDATE OPTION

Online Updates Launch IQCare Auto Update tool. 2. Click on the “Online Updates” button. 3. This will give you a list of all the IQCare Updates you are missing.

Online update 4. Select the versions you want to install. (Note: you cannot install a later version without installing prior versions). 5. Click on the “start update” button. The IQCare update files will be downloaded and installed in a chronological order.

Online Update 6. The progress bar will keep track of the download progress.

Online update 7. There is a notification of which update file has been downloaded when download completes. Click on the “OK” button and installation of that update file will begin. 8. Repeat same process until all update files have been downloaded and instaled.

LOCAL UPDATE OPTION

Local Update For local updates, an XML file (autoupdate.xml) will always be distributed together with the update files. The xml file: should be in the same folder as the IQCare update files. stores all the IQCare updates release details to date. Is compared against the IQCare version you are running to determine which updates you require.

Local Update 1. Launch the application. 2. Click on the “Locate Update Files Folder(Local Updates)” button. This will open a file dialog which allows you to select on which folder the xml file and IQCare update files are on.

Local Update 3. After you select the folder, click OK. The autoupdate tool will automatically compare the version of IQCare you are running with the list of all IQCare update releases from xml file and list for you the updates you are missing.

Local Update 4. In the list of IQCare updates provided, select the versions you want to install. (Note: you cannot install a later version without installing prior versions). 5. Click on the “start update” button. The IQCare update files will be installed in a chronological order.

LOCAL/ONLINE UPDATE OPTION

Local/Online Update If you click on the “Local updates” or “Online Updates” button and your IQCare application is up to date, you will get a message saying so and the list of updates will be empty.

Local/Online Update 2. List of updates is empty since your IQCare application is up to date.
