Presentation transcript:

Lesson 3.1 How do you solve two-step equations? Identify the variable and the constant term Use inverse operations to remove the constant term Use inverse operations to remove the coefficient

Lesson 3.2 How do you solve multi-step equations? Use distributive property and/or combine like terms. Use inverse operations to remove the constant term. Use inverse operations to remove the coefficient.

Lesson 3.3 How do you solve equations with variables on both sides? Simplify expressions on both sides of the equation. Collect all variable terms on one side of the equation. Collect all constant terms on the other side of the equation. Use inverse operations to isolate the variable.

Lesson 3.4 – 3.5 How do you solve one-step inequalities? You isolate the variable using inverse operations that produce equivalent inequalities. However, there is a difference when multiplying and dividing by negatives. Once solved, you graph the inequality

Lesson 3.6 How do you solve multi-step inequalities? Use distributive property and/or combine like terms. Isolate the variable using inverse operations. Just remember to reverse the inequality symbol when multiplying or dividing by a negative number.
