Where do things currently stand? – Conducting needs assessment Current staffing

Grant Support Pre-award support Post-award support Convene CLAS Grant Development Group Develop best practices and training opportunities Provide pre-award support to departments without dedicated staff Post-award support Convene Post-Award Grant Administrators Group Assist with navigating complex compliance requirements Groups – share concerns, back up, troubleshooting, make recommendations, share resources Pre-award best practices – e.g. notifying administrators, DEOs, Deans, etc. of pertinent information before routing stage Post-award best practices – e.g. providing tailored reports to PIs

Research Development Identify and support areas of institutional strength Develop research funding strategies for individuals Support diversification of sponsors Facilitate interdisciplinary collaboration Collaborate with OVPR Research Development Office and counterparts in other colleges Stay apprised of federal funding priorities and directions – mobilize resources earlier Collaborate on activities that communicate research, research opportunities, broader impacts, institutional resources, etc.

CLAS Point of Contact Connect faculty with grant support staff Facilitate grant-related needs for CLAS Dean’s Office Facilitate communication with central units Division of Sponsored Programs, Grant Accounting Office, Human Subjects Office, etc. Dean’s Office needs – requests for letters of support, investigate budget issues, cost sharing requests, etc.
