Be Your Own First Customer Coffee (THERMAL) P R E P A R A T I O N Make sure brewer is on and the brew ready light is lit before brewing. Make sure the brewer’s Coffee Servers are clean and pre-heat them by adding hot water for 5 minutes before the first brew. Place a (14 x 5) filter inside the Brew Basket. Use only 1 filter per brew. Place the correct amount of coffee into the Brew Basket. ½ gallon = 1 bag 1 gallon = 2 bags – Soft Heat Brewer Only. 1.5 gallon=3 bags Gently shake the Brew Basket to level the coffee in the filter, slide the Brew Basket into the Brewer. Select the proper batch size, press the start button. B R E W I T R I G H T Start with a clean and empty server. Allow the brew cycle to completely finish before serving . Discard the spent grounds from the brew basket immediately after the cycle completes. Close the Top of the server AS SOON AS BREW IS FINISHED. C H E C K T H E T A S T E Periodically, taste the coffee. Does the coffee smell and taste fresh? Is the coffee too weak or too strong? Is the coffee at a desirable temperature? R E P L E N I S H M E N T Hold coffee in the Server for 4 hours. Empty and rinse the Server before brewing fresh coffee. Never brew Fresh coffee on top of old coffee. C l e a n i n g Clean the spray head area with a damp cloth daily, and with a scotch brite (green) sponge weekly. Make sure holes are not clogged. Thoroughly clean the brew basket by rinsing with water (daily) and soaking in urn cleaner solution (weekly). Rinse the Servers thoroughly with hot water daily. DO NOT submerge in water! Clean the Servers with urn cleaner Weekly – This is a MUST! DO NOT GET THE LCD READOUT WET! Problem Weak Beverage Probable Cause Spray head missing or clogged. Improper filter position. Coffee grounds not leveled in filter. Incorrect coffee amount to batch selection. Remedy Clean spray head making sure no holes are blocked. Replace spray head if missing. Make sure the filter is centered in the basket and grounds are level. Make sure water temperature is 190 – 205 degrees. Make sure the correct batch amount was selected to match the amount of coffee used. Brew Cycle will not start. No water No power Make sure water lines and valves are open. Make sure brewer is plugged in or check circuit breaker. Make sure panel reads “READY TO BREW”. Dry coffee grounds remain in brew basket Spray head missing or blocked. Remember: The spray head can be disassembled and soaked in urn cleaner weekly. Reattach spray head to brewer.
