Secondhand smoking pollution KylieBoggess

What are three sources of this air pollutant? Cigarettes Cigars Pipes

Is this air pollutant indoor or outdoor? Both due to the fact of substantial levels of contaminated air even if you are sitting down wind from someone smoking. Standing or sitting next to a smoker outdoors can breathe in wisps of smoke that are many times more concentrated than normal background air pollution levels.

Is this a primary or secondary air pollutant? Secondhand smoke pollution is a primary air pollutant because primary means it comes directly from a source such as cigarettes, cigars, or pipes.

Human health effects: Secondhand smoke exposure can cause many health effects in infants such as sudden infant death syndrome, severe asthma attacks, and respiratory infections. Adults: Coronary heart disease, stroke, & lung cancer.

Environmental effects: Smoking pollutes the air, litters our streets, water, and results in ingestion by children and also animals. Secondhand smoke goes into our atmosphere and degrades our air quality.

How can we prevent or reduce this air pollutant? We can prevent or reduce this air pollutant by keeping our cars and homes smoke free, ban smoking in public areas, and also quit smoking for those who have caught this habit.
