Genesis 12:1-3; Exodus 19:5-6 The Redeemed Of God Under The Present Reign Of Christ. Anticipated in prophecy. Daniel 2:44 Prophesied by Jesus. Matthew 21:43 The heavenly kingdom. 2 Peter 1:10

The Kingdom of God is Established The kingdom of heaven was preached to be “at hand” by: John the Baptist. Matthew 3:2 Jesus. Matthew 4:17 The apostles. Matthew 10:7 The seventy. Luke 10:9

The Kingdom of God is Established Mark 1:14-15, “The time is fulfilled …” Mark 9:1, “And He said to them, ‘Assuredly, I say to you that there are some standing here who will not taste death till they see the kingdom of God present with power.’” NKJV

The Kingdom of God is Established Jesus Himself promised the keys of the kingdom. Matthew 16:18-19, “And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it. And I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.”

The Kingdom of God is Established Jews were looking for an earthly kingdom. John 6:15 cf. Mark 11:9-10; Mark 15:13-14 His disciples did not fully understand the nature of His kingdom. cf. Matthew 18:1; 20:21; Acts 1:6; cf. Luke 19:11

Key Verses Regarding the Kingdom Jesus told Pilate He was born to be a king. John 18:36-37, “Jesus answered, ‘My kingdom is not of this world. If My kingdom were of this world, My servants would fight, so that I should not be delivered to the Jews; but now My kingdom is not from here.’ Pilate therefore said to Him, ‘Are You a king then?’ Jesus answered, ‘You say rightly that I am a king. For this cause I was born, and for this cause I have come into the world, that I should bear witness to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth hears My voice.’”

The Kingdom of God is Established He instructed His disciples to wait in Jerusalem for the promise of the Father (cf. Luke 24:49-53; Acts 1:4) The Spirit (promise – power delivered) would guide the apostles into all truth Previously taught things would be remembered. John 16:13; 14:26 Jesus, after speaking to the apostles about things concerning the kingdom (Acts 1:3), ascended to heaven. (Acts 1:9-11)

Key Verses Regarding the Kingdom Daniel 2:44, “And in the days of these kings the God of heaven will set up a kingdom which shall never be destroyed; and the kingdom shall not be left to other people; it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand forever.”

The Kingdom of God is Established cf. Ephesians 1:20-23, “… which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and made him to sit at his right hand in the heavenly (places), far above all rule, and authority, and power, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come: and he put all things in subjection under his feet, and gave him to be head over all things to the church, which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.” (cf. Hebrews 12:28) cf. Daniel 7:13-14, “I saw in the night-visions, and, behold, there came with the clouds of heaven one like unto a son of man, and he came even to the ancient of days, and they brought him near before him. And there was given him dominion, and glory, and a kingdom, that all the peoples, nations, and languages should serve him: his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed” (cf. Acts 2:32-33)

The Kingdom of God is Established Jesus became KING. Matthew 28:18; cf. Revelation 4-5 Acts 2:33-35, “Being therefore by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, he hath poured forth this, which ye see and hear. For David ascended not into the heavens: but he saith himself, The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, Till I make thine enemies the footstool of thy feet.” (Note Psalms 110)

The Kingdom of God is Established Holy Spirit came upon the apostles. They had expected him to do so before his death (Luke 19:11), but their hopes had been dashed by his crucifixion (Luke 24:21).

The Kingdom of God is Established When the Holy Spirit came upon the apostles … The apostles then understood that the long-awaited kingdom would be different from what they had previously anticipated. (cf. Acts 1:6) A kingdom that would reach the hearts of people and that ALL could come into this kingdom. Acts 2:21, 39; cf. Isaiah 2:2ff

The Kingdom of God is Established When the Holy Spirit came upon the apostles … No earthly army, no earthly king. (John 18:36) Jesus rules in the hearts of men. (Luke. 17:21) No earthly kingdom. (Romans 14:17) Jesus’ ministry was aimed at bringing people into His kingdom, the church.

Day, Place, Persons Involved When Redemption Began The Place Was Jerusalem. According to the scriptures (Isaiah 2:1-2). Isaiah 2:3, “for out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of Jehovah from Jerusalem.” Luke 24:46-47, “and he said unto them, Thus it is written, that the Christ should suffer, and rise again from the dead the third day; and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name unto all the nations, beginning from Jerusalem.” 1st day of the week, 9 o’clock in the morning. Acts 2:14-15 “The Beginning,” Acts 11:15

Pentecost Holy Spirit came to the apostles 10 days after Jesus ascended into heaven (Acts 1:1-5; 2:1-4) Leviticus 23:15-16, “And ye shall count unto you from the morrow after the sabbath, from the day that ye brought the sheaf of the wave-offering; seven sabbaths shall there be complete: even unto the morrow after the seventh sabbath shall ye number fifty days; and ye shall offer a new meal-offering unto Jehovah.”

Pentecost The Kingdom of God began when the message of the King began to be preached. 3,000 souls responded and became the first subjects of the new kingdom! Acts 2:41, “Then those who gladly received his word were baptized; and that day about three thousand souls were added to them.” More and more were added through obedience. Revelation 1:9; Colossians 1:13-14
